Jorge Masvidal blasts “Bitchbing” for picking and choosing his fights

By Tom Taylor - May 24, 2017

Jorge Masvidal has been around for awhile. His first MMA bout occurred all the way back in 2003. And then there was the time he spent as a street fighter in the early years of his career.

On Monday’s edition of The MMA Hour, Masvidal looked back to the halcyon days of his career, when fighters took on all comers and gave no quarter, often competing multiple times in a single night. In the modern era of money fights and champions hand-picking their opponents, Masvidal explained the he remembers those good old days very fondly.

“Back in the day, we had to fight three or four times in one night without dodging nobody,” he said (via MMAMania.com). “That’s what the sport was built on and a lot of the guys that came in after that had that similar mindset. Just compete, fight the best and keep winning. Now it’s just fight the guy that you can beat or this and that.”

Masvidal was then asked to confirm that he was speaking specifically about middleweight champion Michael Bisping, who many believe has been avoiding a fight with streaking contender Yoel Romero.

“Bitchbing, yeah. That’s who I’m talking about. But, it’s just not him there is a bunch of dudes, but he is leading the front. He’s the front man. But, I don’t even want to talk about him on your show because I’m not going to make that dude famous. We’re not going to make that dude famous. Let him go out there, win some fights and let him generate his own name. I wasn’t even going to say that bitch’s name.”
