BREAKING | UFC on Fox 26 in Winnipeg gets massive welterweight headliner

By Tom Taylor - October 12, 2017

UFC on Fox 26, which goes down on December 16 in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada, now has a headliner – and it is absolute dynamite.

Robbie Lawler, UFC on FOx 26

In one corner, we’ll have former UFC welterweight champion Robbie Lawler. In the other, we’ll have former lightweight champ Rafael dos Anjos. This news was announced by the UFC on Thursday morning.

Lawler was last seen in the cage at UFC 214, when he picked up a close decision win over fellow fan favorite Donald “Cowboy” Cerrone. This bout marked Lawler’s return to action after more than a year on the sidelines. In his next most recent fight, he surrendered the UFC welterweight crown to Tyron Woodley, succumbing to a first-round knockout.

Dos Anjos, meanwhile, last fought at UFC 215, also in Canada, when he dominated long-time contender Neil Magny to a first-round submission win. In his next most recent outing, he defeated former Strikeforce champion Tarec Saffiedine by decision. Now 2-0 at welterweight, Dos Anjos, like Lawler, stands out as one of the division’s premier contenders. As such, this fight could very well produce the welterweight division’s next title challenger.

Along with this massive booking, two other exciting UFC on Fox 26 fights have also been announced: one pairing Galore Bofando with Chad Laprise, and another pitting Nordine Taleb against Sultan Aliev.

Who do you think comes out on top in the UFC on Fox 26 main event? Does the winner fight Tyron Woodley next?
