Artem Lobov signs six-figure deal with Bareknuckle Fighting Championship, debuts against fellow UFC vet Jason Knight
Artem Lobov has found a new home.
The Conor McGregor training partner has signed a multi-fight deal with Bare Knuckle Fighting Championships (BKFC) — not to be confused with WBKFF. He will make his BKFC debut opposite another fan favorite UFC veteran in Jason “The Kid” Knight on April 20.
This news was first reported by Ariel Helwani, who added that Lobov’s deal will allow him to moonlight with an MMA promotion.
“Artem Lobov has signed a three-fight, six-figure deal with Bare Knuckle FC, Lobov told ESPN,” Helwani reported on Twitter. “His debut will be against former UFC fighter Jason Knight on April 20. He also gets PPV points. The deal allows him to sign with an MMA promotion, as well.”
Artem Lobov recently parted ways with the UFC after consecutive losses to Michael Johnson, Andre Fili and Cub Swanson. While he is often criticized for his less-than-stellar record, which sits below the .500 mark at 13–15–1 , he is widely loved among fans for his exciting fighting style.
Like Lobov, Jason Knight is also known for his all-action brand of fighting. He was recently released from the UFC, as first reported by BJPenn.com’s Cole Shelton, after a quartet of losses to Ricardo Lamas, Gabriel Benitez, Makwan Amirkhani and Jordan Rinaldi. He’s 20-6 in sum.
Jason Knight and Artem Lobov join a talent-packed BKFC roster composed of names like Bec Rawlings, Chris Lytle, Joey Beltran, Tony Lopez, Julian Lane and Leonard Garcia.
