Rampage Jackson On Reason For UFC Departure: Dana White Talked $#!t Behind My Back
BJPENN.COM News - June 11, 2013
“I doubt he’ll (Dana White) miss me at all. I’m pretty sure I was a thorn in UFC’s side for awhile. I did everything in my power to fix the relationship. Honestly, I was wrong doing “The A-Team” movie because I was scheduled to fight Rashad in Memphis. That was a hard decision for me. I know I messed up by doing that. That’s why I didn’t pull out of that fight in Japan (February 26, 2012, against Ryan Bader) when I was injured. I wanted to show Dana that I still got his back and I thought I could beat Bader even with an injury. So I thought I was going to try to fix this relationship, but then that made it worse. Because Dana was saying face to face that everything was cool, but then talked shit behind my back for not making weight and said a few things in the press. That was the straw the broke the camel’s back. That’s when I knew there was no repairing that relationship and that’s the day I decided to say I am going to leave the UFC.”

Quinton 'Rampage' Jackson Discloses Details on TNA, Movies, and 4-Part Reality Show
bjpenndotcom - June 6, 2013
Quinton ‘Rampage’ Jackson has gone through what appears to be his own fountain of youth, revitalizing a career that he had stated was on its way out. A new deal with Bellator FC has opened up a number of doors for the 34-year old former UFC light-heavyweight champ and Rampage fully intends on opening every single one. Unhappy with his career in the UFC, Rampage was extremely vocal about leaving the promotion to take charge of his own well-being. In an interview with a MMA news outlet Jackson disclosed details on the new deal that could mean big things for Jackson, Bellator, Spike, TNA, and the world of MMA.
Rampage: Bellator Gets It, UFC Didn't
BJPENN.COM News - June 6, 2013
“I’m very excited to be a part of this family. You have no idea. This is something I’ve been dreaming about and waiting for years. I’ve been fighting for 12 years. I have a promoter that ‘gets it.’ He’s like one of the fighters. We put our life on the line and we entertain the fans. Sometimes, in the past with promoters, I just felt like I wasn’t appreciated. But, you guys get it. I’ve always wanted to be a pro wrestler. That’s why I got started in this, that’s why I started wrestling in high school. That’s why I used to fight the way I used to fight when I was younger, I used to slam people, power bombs and stuff like that. My dream has come true. I get to go to TNA and do some pro wrestling. I felt I could do this, be in front of cameras and not be shy. Like the “A-Team” movie, I want to be an action guy, I want to be a big kid and you guys are making my dreams come true. It makes me feel like all the hard work and all the things I did to my body in the past is all paying off now. I lost a lot of love for MMA when I was in the UFC. Honestly they just killed it, they drained it, but this new deal got me so excited and instantly brought the love back. It’s hard to explain the way I feel now. I’m happy to be a part of the team.”
