Boxing star Amir Khan thinks Conor McGregor moved up in weight the wrong way
Two of boxing’s biggest current stars are set to fight in the ring on Saturday.
Saul ‘Canelo’ Alvarez (46-1-1, 32 KOs) looks to defend his WBC middleweight title against former light welterweight champion Amir Khan (31-3, 19 KOs).
Khan will be moving up two weight classes for the fight against the bigger Alvarez and spoke with ESPN’s Todd Grisham. When asked about Conor McGregor’s move up in weight to fight Nate Diaz, Khan had an interesting comment.
Khan replied that McGregor may have “ate his way up in weight” instead of putting on muscle.
Amir told me he thinks Conor Mcgregor "ate his way up in weight" instead of using training to add muscle like he has for Canelo fight.

McGregor has made it known that he was eating a lot ahead of the fight with Diaz, and declares that he will come in light and lean in a future rematch with Diaz.
Interestingly, Khan has expressed a bit of interest in fighting MMA and has brought up Conor McGregor’s name as an opponent.
We will see what the future holds for Amir Khan as he is set for one of the biggest fights of his career against Saul ‘Canelo’ Alvarez on May 7.
