Anthony Joshua reacts to Tyson Fury vs Deontay Wilder
While the boxing world was fully engulfed with Tyson Fury vs Deontay Wilder for the WBC heavyweight championship this past weekend, one boxer’s shadow loomed large over the fight.
As the two heavyweights fought in a classic matchup that ended up in a controversial draw that has the boxing world still buzzing, the focus now turns into what is next for both Wilder and Fury.
Many have called for a rematch between the two and both fighters said following the draw that they would be open to it, but both have also called out Anthony Joshua following their fight.
Joshua is the current IBF, WBA, and WBO champion which makes him the unified world heavyweight champion but has reportedly turned down a fight with Wilder in the past.
Following Saturday’s main event, Joshua took to Twitter to respond to a report that Wilder is still focused on getting a fight with him, saying that he is willing to fight either Wilder or Fury.

What took this fool so long? Like we ain’t been interested?!! 🙄Anyway well done Fury! they wanted to get you because they assumed you was finished!! I’ll give you a fair one when your ready! Either one of you!
Joshua is currently 22-0 with 21 knockouts in his career including a marquee victory over former champion Wladimir Klitschko. His most recent victory came over Alexander Povetkin in September of 2018 by seventh-round TKO.
The report from SkySports states that Wilder’s co-manager Shelly Finkel stated that the team is open to fighting Joshua and restarting negotiations for a fight, as long as Joshua’s manager Eddie Hearn remained “professional” and kept the negotiations private between both sides.
According to Hearn, Wilder remains the top option for Joshua’s next fight that is scheduled to take place on April 13, inside the Wembley Stadium in London, England.
As far as the potential matchup between the two which would likely be a unification fight for all the heavyweight titles, Hearn said “we will see what happens” in future negotiations.
Many in the boxing world have called for an immediate rematch between Fury and Wilder but it appears that Wilder, the WBC champion, still has sights set on Anthony Joshua.
