One big matchup that could be arranged is with UFC heavyweight champion Stipe Miocic, who has been talking about a boxing match with unified world heavyweight boxing champion, Anthony Joshua.

“If the (Mayweather vs McGregor fight) happens, me against Joshua would be a great fight,” Miocic said on The MMA Hour back in May. “I think I’d surprise a lot of people, I think it’d be an amazing fight … let’s do it! He’s a great guy. He’s tough, he’s a champion for a reason. I think I’d give him a run for his money.”

“I do a lot of boxing and I’ve boxed before, working on my boxing I think I’d be fine. “He’s a tough guy, he’s the best in the world. But, I’m pretty tough, too,”

Miocic also said on The Fight Society podcast that he would be confident going into the boxing ring against Joshua.

“I did Golden Gloves and all that good stuff,” he said. “I just love the fight. I think it would be a great fight. I think people would love to see it.”

“I’m going to go out there and give it all I got,” Miocic said if the fight were to be made. “Listen, I’ve got the best coaches in the world and I’d definitely be ready for that fight.”

With two successful UFC title defenses, Miocic will make history if he defends his belt a third consecutive time setting the record for most consecutive UFC heavyweight title defenses. However, the unified world heavyweight boxing champion apparently does not think too highly of Miocic.

Sports journalist Mike Bohn tweeted a series of photos of Joshua brushing off the potential matchup against Miocic with a “Notorious” reference.
