This weekend is full of fights as UFC Fight Night 116 takes place along with one of boxing’s biggest title fight matchups in recent memory between Canelo Alvarez and Gennady Golovkin. Another middleweight title boxing match is taking place in London, England and is getting quite a bit of attention with the buildup for the fight as WBO champion Billy Joe Saunders will look to defend his belt against Willie Monroe Jr.

The two had an interesting run-in leading up to the fight where things nearly got physical between Saunders and Monroe’s trainers, which is seen in the video above.

On Friday, both opponents weighed in at the middleweight limit of 160 pounds, which made the title fight official. While the two opponents were posing for the media and people in attendance, Saunders’ son hopped on the scale and Monroe gave the boy a friendly stroke on his head. Saunders’ son didn’t take to the friendly gesture and proceeded with punching and kicking Monroe below the belt and was immediately pulled away from security. Saunders barely even acknowledged the situation as it happened as he continued posing. Saunders’ kid didn’t stop there as the two sides were separated and the boy can he heard talking trash.

Monroe posted a video of the incident on Instagram and had the following to say in his caption:

“I honestly thought people in London were cool but I’ve called a Nigger..a wanker…a Latin Fuck etc and now at the weigh ins They bring a kid on stage to punch me in the Nuts and nothing was done about it @frank_warren_official should be ashamed of himself #williemonroejr #SaundersMonroe #MonroeSaunders #Wewin. #badkids #coffinseason #andthenew #weighins.”

Saunders addressed the situation on Twitter saying the following:

“My sons been taught when A stranger puts their hands on them they don’t know punch and run away self defence @boxnationtv @frankwarren_tv👍🏻”
