VIDEO | Freddie Roach wonders what’s in store for him following Muhammad Ali’s death
Earlier this week tragedy struck the combat sports community when it was announced that boxing icon Muhammad Ali had passed away at the age of 74. While Ali’s death was undoubtably devastating for many members of the combat sports community, Ali’s death certainly hit close to home for famed boxing trainer Freddie Roach.
Roach also suffers from Parkinson’s Disease, like Ali did, however Roach has managed to fight off the disease’s progression by staying active in the gym training fighters.
In the video above, Roach recalls a memory where Ali walked into his gym and asked to hit the heavybag, at which point his tremors from Parkinson’s Disease stopped. In addition, Roach wonders what could be in store for his future battle with the disease.
