Deontay Wilder returned to his winning ways on Saturday night at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, knocking Robert Helenius out in the first round with a thunderous right hand. His opponent didn’t just go down, he stayed down with his eyes staring up into the rafters. It was a solid reminder that ‘The Bronze Bomber’ has dynamite in his fists. Robert Helenius was a former sparring partner of Wilder’s and something of a palate cleanser for the heavyweight knockout artist after back-to-back losses to Tyson Fury. Now Deontay is looking to get back into the title picture, and he’s got some targets to do that. When asked in the ring who might be next, Wilder said they wanted Oleksandr Usyk, but doubted Usyk would fight him.

It was an absolutely brutal fight for both men to be a part of, but ultimately it was Fury who was the winner, proving he is the better boxer.

Still, it was an incredible performance by Wilder even in his defeat, as he showed incredible toughness and durability up until the finish.

It was an incredible war between two of the best heavyweight boxers we have ever seen, but at the end of the fight, it was Fury getting his hand raised yet again. Fury is now 2-0-1 overall in the trilogy against Wilder and he’s proven that he is the better man. But regardless of Fury being the better boxer, Wilder certainly proved his toughness in the trilogy fight. It was an amazing fight and after, Rogan had nothing but good things to say.

The pair would later rematch in February of 2020, with the British standout emerging victorious in dominant fashion, earning a seventh-round knockout victory.
