Tyson Fury Believes "MMA is for people who can't box"

bjpenndotcom - December 7, 2015

It wasn’t too long ago when Tyson Fury won the heavyweight championship of the world. Most expected Fury to be highly vocal about his win over Klitschklo, who he will rematch for the title in 2016 in an undecided venue. Fury made remarks back in 2013 when “The baddest man on the planet” was Cain Velasquez. “I would take Cain Velasquez out,” Fury said in 2013. “MMA, to me, is bulls—. It’s for people who can’t box and like wrestling on the floor. It’s rubbish.” Fury said.

"Ring" Magazine "Should have been Holm not Rousey"

bjpenndotcom - December 6, 2015

When Ronda Rousey graced the cover of Ring Magazine last month, the boxing community went into an uproar about the cover. Many critics surfaced responding to Ring’s choice of cover, wondering why the MMA mega star was on the popular magazine. One of the more vocal critics was Floyd “Money” Mayweather who took to verbal jabs at owner Oscar De La Hoya for the cover. Boxing promoter Lou DiBella was the latest to get his jabs in Saturday night following an event headlined by Daniel Jacobs and Peter Quillin at Barclays Center in Brooklyn. DiBella bashed the magazine, not only for putting Rousey on the cover, but for not putting a legitimate women’s boxing champion with 16 title defenses and 3 of those were in different weight classes. CNG’s Joseph Stazewski gets the quotes: “If I was Ring Magazine, maybe I would have put Holly Holm on the cover before she won,” DiBella said at the post-fight press conference, continuing, “And talked about her story and maybe why she had a chance and what she accomplished in boxing that they didn’t pay attention to for her whole career.”

bjpenndotcom - November 24, 2015

Wladimir Klitschko, from Ukraine, who is the current WBA Super, WBO, IBO, and IBF champion (64-3-53 KO), chose Paffen gloves for the bout, but Tyson Fury (24-0-18KO) found the test pair uncomfortable during training. A second test pair was approved by Fury, but his camp is still waiting for a brand new pair to be made and delivered in time for the clashing of heavyweight champions in Dusseldorf, Germany. “He’s had it all his own way in every single aspect and all I ask is that I’m treated fairly and to wear gloves which fit me, for the sake of my hands. Because this is not my last fight. After I knock him out, I’ll have other fights and I need my hands for my trade,” Fury said.
