Earlier this month, it was announced that Jake Paul would compete against his fourth MMA fighter inside the boxing ring. Paul will face off with UFC veteran Diaz on August 5 in Dallas, Texas, with the hope of bouncing back from his first professional loss to Tommy Fury.

A world title fight on the undercard of Devin Haney vs. Vasiliy Lomachenko delivered a “Knockout of the Year” candidate. On the ESPN portion of the card, Junto Nakatani battled Andrew Moloney for the vacant WBO junior bantamweight championship. For the most part, Nakatani was dominant and Moloney found out rather quickly that he could not outbox his opponent. Moloney tried making things rough in spots, but ultimately, he was on the receiving end of a brutal knockout loss in the 12th round. This was after Moloney had been knocked down in rounds two and 11.

Undisputed lightweight champion Devin Haney put his titles on the line against Vasiliy Lomachenko this evening in Las Vegas. Haney (30-0 Boxing) was returning to action for the first time since defeating George Kambosos by unanimous decision in October of last year. ‘The Dream’ was looking to earn his first stoppage victory since 2019 when he stepped into the squared circle at the MGM Grand Garden Arena this evening.

Former UFC ‘champ champ’ Conor McGregor has reacted after Katie Taylor suffered her first pro boxing defeat at the hands of Chantelle Cameron. Taylor (22-1 Boxing) collided with Cameron (18-0 Boxing) in front of a packed house at the 3Arena in Dublin, Ireland. With a win, Katie would have taken home Cameron’s undisputed junior welterweight championship.

UFC Heavyweight Champion Jon Jones believes boxing’s heavyweight king Tyson Fury did an about-face. Fury, the reigning WBC and The Ring Heavyweight Champion, took to his Instagram Stories to fire shots at UFC color commentator Joe Rogan. Fury was quite upset with Rogan for saying that Jones would get the better of him if they were locked in a room. “The Gypsy King” was adamant that no man alive would make it out of that room if he had anything to say about it.

Former UFC title challenger Darren Till is now in the fight promoter space. Till has partnered with South African businessman and politician Duduzane Zuma to launch Gorilla Fight Club. Zuma discussed the promotion during an interview with Times Live.

Earlier this week, it was announced that Francis Ngannou had signed a blockbuster deal with PFL. However, it was also revealed that he won’t make his debut until 2024, instead giving him time to try and have his long-awaited boxing debut instead.

PFL heavyweight contender Francis Ngannou is still hoping to box Tyson Fury. ‘The Predator’ famously ended his lengthy free agency earlier this week. In January, Ngannou made history as the first champion to leave the UFC since BJ Penn did so in 2004. At the time, the heavyweight stated that restrictive contracts, as well as a lack of an ability to box, forced his move.

A former world boxing champion has put newly-signed PFL fighter Francis Ngannou on blast for thinking he can box. Ngannou has made headlines after ending his free agency period. The former UFC Heavyweight Champion inked a deal with PFL. He will serve as the Chairman of PFL Africa, receive equity in the company, and will be allowed to have boxing matches outside the organization.

Joe Fournier is none too pleased with how his boxing match with KSI ended. Fournier and KSI competed inside OVO Arena Wembley in London, England this past Saturday (May 13). It was clear early on that KSI had a speed advantage and was the sharper boxer. In the second round, Fournier’s lights were shut off and his opponent was awarded the knockout win. This one had some controversy. Replays showed that KSI appeared to have knocked Fournier out with an unintentional elbow.

In his professional debut against Logan Paul in November 2019, he defeated ‘The Maverick’ by split decision.

Kenneth Egano, a 22-year-old boxer, has passed away after competing in Manny Pacquiao’s promotion. Egano who was 7-1 with three wins by KO was facing Jason Facularin (4-1) at the Imus Sports Gymnasium in the Philippines last weekend in an eight-round fight that part of Manny Pacquiao‘s TV show “Blow by Blow”, which features boxers on smaller cards. After a hard-fought battle, when the final bell rang and just before they were set to announce Egano as the winner, he collapsed in his corner.

It’s an intriguing matchup and one the brash YouTuber-turned-boxer is confident he will win by KO. If he does knockout Diaz, he believes it will be a statement victory and leave McGregor no choice to fight him next as he KO’d the guy that he couldn’t.
