According to a report from ESPN, lineal heavyweight boxing champion Tyson Fury (27-0-1, 19 KOs) will return to the ring on June 15 opposite Germany’s Tom Schwarz (24-0, 16 KOs). This bout will be broadcast on ESPN+ (get a free trial here). It is being targeted for Las Vegas, but a venue has not yet been confirmed. Tyson Fury has not fought since a headline dominating December showdown with WBC heavyweight champion Deontay Wilder. Fury outfought his rival for the vast majority of the fight, but was on the receiving end of the bout’s only two knockdowns — including a 12th-round scare that very nearly ended the fight.

Tyson Fury inks ESPN deal reportedly worth more than $100m

That Tyson Fury vs. Deontay Wilder rematch that, just days ago, seemed like an imminent possibility? Let’s just pump the brakes on all of that talk. In a surprising twist, Fury has signed a multi-fight deal to be co-promoted by Top Rank Boxing, which means his fights will broadcast on ESPN in the United States (he’ll still be viewable on BT Sport in the UK). He is also expected to fight twice a year on US soil.
