Tyson Fury and Anthony Joshua officially sign contract for two boxing matches

Heavyweight boxing superstars Tyson Fury and Anthony Joshua have officially signed a contract for two boxing matches between the rivals. ESPN’s Mark Kriegel confirmed with Joshua’s promoter Eddie Hearn that both Fury and Joshua have put pen to paper for two boxing matches. There are still more details that need to be ironed out, such as the location and venue, but today’s news that both boxers have signed off on the fight puts the matchup one step closer to becoming a reality.

Tyson Fury may be fighting Deontay Wilder instead of Anthony Joshua next time out. After Fury TKO’d Wilder in February of 2020 in their highly anticipated rematch, many fans wanted to see the Anthony Joshua fight. It would unify the heavyweight division and prove who is the best heavyweight. However, Wilder was campaigning for the trilogy, but recently, talks between Fury and Joshua seemed to progress.

In their second fight, Fury was picking Wilder apart and busted up his ear which made him bleed. Heavyweight boxing superstar Tyson Fury is backing Conor McGregor to beat Dustin Poirier if the pair meet in the UFC’s Octagon for a third time. McGregor and Poirier first met at featherweight in 2014, with McGregor winning by first-round knockout. They then met in a rematch at UFC 257 last month, this time in the lightweight division. Poirier won that rematch by second-round knockout.

A heavyweight boxing matchup between superstars Tyson Fury and Anthony Joshua has been verbally agreed to and targeted for 2021. Fury and Joshua are the top two heavyweights in the sport right now and it was only a matter of time before these behemoths met in the ring. Fury is coming off of a TKO win over Deontay Wilder and Joshua just beat Kubrat Pulev, so this matchup is the logical one to make. According to Mike Coppinger of The Athletic, the Fury vs. Joshua matchup has been verbally agreed to and the fight will take place in May/June 2021. Promoter Eddie Hearn says there are only minor issues to resolve before it’s official.
