Tyson Fury reacts to Deontay Wilder’s KO victory

Last night, undefeated WBC heavyweight champ Deontay Wilder delivered yet another violent, one-punch knockout, this time at the expense of challenger Dominic Breazeale. Tyson Fury, who battled Wilder to a draw late last year, was watching this fight closely.

Speaking in a short video posted to his Instagram, Tyson Fury shared his thoughts on his rival’s destructive performance. He sang the praises of Wilder at length, but ultimately reasserted his belief that he deserved to win his 2018 draw with the American, and proclaimed himself the true king of the heavyweights.

“This is Tyson Fury, AKA ‘The Gypsy King,'” Fury said in his video. “I just want to say, well done to Deontay Wilder in knocking out Dominic Breazeale. I got that prediction quite correct. Anybody who wants to go toe-to-toe with Deontay Wilder will have the same fate as Dominic Breazeale and the rest of [Wilder’s] 40 other victims. Anthony Joshua, you’ll get it as well. Same thing will happen to you. Dillian Whyte [too]. ‘The Bronze Bomber’ is the most fearsome, most destructive puncher in the heavyweight division. But it’s just a pity that he had to lose to The Gypsy King. Anyone that stands in front of Deontay Wilder, he will knock ’em out. Deontay Wilder is the second baddest man on the planet behind The Gypsy King, AKA Tyson Fury, the number one heavyweight in the world. Nobody can beat me. I can’t be touched.”

“Congrats [Deontay Wilder] but you’re the second baddest man on the planet behind me,” Fury added in the caption for this Instagram post.

Tyson Fury and Deontay Wilder are both undefeated, their 2018 draw being the lone blemish on either of the sterling records. While most of the world was clamoring for a rematch after their draw, Wilder instead met Breazeale, while Fury is scheduled to fight Tom Schwarz in June.
