6th Annual ‘Fighters Only’ World MMA Awards Set For Vegas, Feb. 7
The sixth annual Fighters Only World MMA Awards returns to Las Vegas early in the New Year, and once again it’s destined to be the most anticipated red carpet event on the mixed martial arts calendar. With a few more weeks still to go, 2013 has already been arguably the most exciting, dramatic and successful year in the history of MMA. Highlight reel finishes, last-gasp victories and record-breaking decisions have been accompanied by some of the biggest deals and industry breakthroughs to date outside of the cage too.
It all ensures that the sixth Fighters Only World Mixed Martial Arts Awards is likely to be the most competitive yet. Destined to return to Las Vegas in February 2014, the world’s leading fighting athletes will descend on Sin City and trade in their walkout shirts and fight shorts for bowties and gowns especially for the red carpet extravaganza. And this year, for the first time due to fans demand, the Fighters Only Awards will take in a full 12-month calendar from 2013.
The shortlists of nominees will be announced on the 1st of January 2014, compiled yet again by many of the industry’s biggest experts joining the Fighters Only team of international editors to shortlist only the stand-out moments from the last 12 months. But, while the nomination process has already begun, it will be you – MMA’s global fan base – who will have the final say on all the awards bar one. Your vote can make the difference between your favorite fighter going home with one of the much sought after silver statuettes, or leaving empty handed.
Keep an eye on the website: worldmmaawards.com to check out the shortlists, cast your votes, and ensure you have your say on mixed martial arts history.
Can Jon Jones keep hold of the ‘Fighter of the Year’ trophy he retained last year? Will Chris Weidman repeat his victory over Anderson Silva in their return at the end of the year justify his nomination? Will Dwayne Ludwig’s incredible debut season as a full-time coach result in him walking away with the ‘Coach of the Year’ award?
The shortlists are coming – the voting is up to you.
