The UFC Lincoln lineup has grown by one awesome fight, as strawweight contenders and former Invicta stars Angela Hill and Alexa Grasso have been scheduled for a meeting. Angela Hill hinted at this bout on Twitter. The fight was subsequently confirmed by MMAjunkie.

Alexa Grasso’s battle with The Ultimate Fighter 23 winner Tatiana Suarez, which headlined the UFC’s Saturday night debut in Santiago, Chile, did not go the way she planned. Instead, the Mexican strawweight was taken down and submitted by her American adversary in the very first round. Shortly after this loss, Grasso took to Instagram to issue a statement. A key women’s strawweight bout between Alexa Grasso and Tatiana Suarez served as the co-headliner of tonight’s UFC Fight Night 129 event in Chile. Round one begins and Suarez starts off quickly. She presses forward but Grasso greets her with a low kick. Suarez continues to press and lands a kick tot he body. She shoots in and presses Grasso against the cage. Alexa with some elbows from the position. Suarez eats those shots and secures a takedown. Grasso quickly scrambles back up to her feet but Suarez still has her pressed against the cage. Another takedown for Tatiana. She immediately moves to side control. Grasso rolls for an armbar but it is not there. Suarez moves to Grasso’s back and locks in a rear-naked choke. This is deep. Grasso is fighting hard but she is in all sorts of trouble. Tatiana Suarez with another hard squeeze and that is it! This one is all over as Grasso is forced to tapout.

A strawweight scrap between Randa Markos and Alexa Grasso served as the co-main event of tonight’s UFC Fight Night 114 fight card in Mexico City. Round one begins and Grasso lands a kick to the body of Markos to start. Randa is circling looking for a way inside. Grasso with a nice left hand. Randa responds with a heavy right. Grasso eats it and fires off a low kick. Markos with another right hand. Alexa fires right back with a left. Randa leaps forward and lands a combination. She is scoring with a some big punches now. Randa pushes Alexa against the cage. She opts to let go of the clinch and begins to throw more leather. Alexa responds with a low kick. Randa with a right hand and then she circles out. Grasso presses forward and lands an outside low kick. Randa charges forward with a combination but nothing connects. Another good low kick from Alexa. Both women connect with left hands. Grasso with a left hook and then an uppercut. Randa might be stunned here. Grasso presses Randa against the cage and begins working some knees. Randa is bleeding. Grasso gets the fight to the floor and begins working some ground and pound. She takes the back of Markos. Randa scrambles and gets back to her feet. She presses Grasso against the cage. Grasso switches the position and lands some knees. Randa reverses and lands a left hook. The ladies break and round one comes to an end.

Last night, in the co-main event of the UFC’s latest trip to Houston, 23-year-old strawweight prospect Alexa Grasso faced the biggest test of her career in WMMA veteran Felice Herrig. Despite Herrig’s big-stage experience, this one was expected to be a blowout for the young Grasso, as evidenced by her status as a 3-1 betting favorite. In the end, however, Herrig sprung the upset, handing Grasso the first loss of her career with a unanimous decision win. With this result, she looks ahead to bigger challenges, while Grasso will now return to the drawing board.

Last Saturday, the UFC returned to Mexico City, Mexico, with UFC Fight Night 98. The highlight of the Octagon’s Mexican return was undoubtedly the main event, which saw streaking lightweight contender Tony Ferguson take a decision from former champion Rafael Dos Anjos in an action-packed, five-round battle. Other highlights of the card included a nice win courtesy of The Ultimate Fighter 1 veteran Diego Sanchez, who defied the odds to spoil the UFC debut of Bellator vet Marcin Held, and Ricardo Lamas’ beautiful submission defeat of the over weight Charles “Do Bronx” Oliveira.
