Alistair Overeem issues statement following brutal KO loss to Francis Ngannou.
The former Strikeforce and Dream heavyweight champion, Overeem, squared off with dangerous knockout artist Francis Ngannou in the co-main event of tonight’s UFC 218 fight card in Detroit, Michigan.
As expected, it did not take long for one of the big men to connect with a massive strike. Unfortunately for fans of “The Reem”, it was Alistair who was on the receiving end of a massive left hook from Ngannou that sent the “Demolition Man” crashing to the canvas.

Shortly following the conclusion of UFC 218, Alistair Overeem took to social media where he assured fans that he was ok and congratulated Francis Ngannou.

With his massive victory over former title challenger Alistair Overeem at UFC 218, Francis “The Predator” Ngannou is now expected to be the next man to challenge current heavyweight title holder Stipe Miocic.
As for Overeem, the feared striker can easily get back into the title mix with a win in his next octagon appearance.
