Alonzo Menifield is excited to be getting the chance to fight Ed Herman and in front of a crowd. Menifield returned to the win column last time out with a submission win over Fabio Cherant. The victory snapped his two-fight losing skid and now, he gets a chance to fight Herman at UFC 265 in his home state of Texas which he’s ecstatic about.

Alonzo Menifield knew there was a lot of pressure on him entering his UFC 260 fight. Originally, Menifield was set to face William Knight but just three days before Knight was out of the fight due to testing positive for COVID-19. When Menifield found out the news, he was disappointed as he thought he wouldn’t get the chance to fight.

Alonzo Menifield will remain on UFC 260 but he won’t fight William Knight. Menifield and Knight were supposed to fight on February 27 but Menifield tested positive for COVID-19 and the fight was postponed to this Saturday’s UFC 260. However, the UFC announced that Knight is out of the fight and has been rebooked to fight Da-un Jung on April 10. Menifield, meanwhile, will remain on UFC 260 and he will face LFA light heavyweight champion Fabio Cherant.

Tonight’s UFC on ESPN 15 fight card just took a major hit as the scheduled co-main event between Ovince Saint Preux and Alonzo Menifield has been called off. Saint Preux (24-14 MMA) tested positive and negative for the Coronavirus during fight week, before a positive test this morning ruled out his ability to compete at the event.

For “OSP,” he says he just wanted to fight and the opponent didn’t matter.

Dana White’s Tuesday Night Contender Series is back and in week 1 of season 2, the prospects delivered with four of the five fights ending via KO/TKO. Two former NFL players, one pro debut. Greg Hardy and Austen Lane started the action very fast seeing Hardy pressing the action. An eye poke from Hardy halted the action shortly after. Lane followed it with some pressing jabs that got Hardy’s attention. Hardy continued to push forward and soon after landed a big right hook that staggered Lane before he landed a left hook to end the fight just under a minute and get the win in his pro debut.
