Leading up to the fight, Nunes explained that Rousey would never get the bantamweight championship back, however the MMA community remained divided over who they thought would win the fight.

Following the fight, Nunes spoke to TMZ to discuss the scrap, and why she can’t comprehend how Rousey managed to be so dominant during her reign as UFC champion.

“I don’t know how Ronda Rousey went too far in this division. Honestly, I don’t understand why those girls lost to Ronda Rousey. I know since my first fight in the UFC I can beat Ronda Rousey, but of course I have to take my time and put everything together. That day was the day to prove to everybody and I did it.”

“Yes, for sure [Rousey is overrated]. The UFC make this happen. They put her in a place where she’s not at. But I know I can beat Ronda Rousey since I saw her first fight.”

Since the loss, there has been no word as to when, or if, Rousey plans to return to the Octagon. In a statement released following the fight, Rousey revealed that she needs to take some time to process the loss before making any further decisions on her career.
