Amanda Nunes misses UFC 207 media lunch due to illness

With less than two weeks to go until UFC 207, unfortunate news has surfaced that UFC women’s bantamweight champion Amanda Nunes has been forced to miss her scheduled UFC 207 media lunch due to a minor illness. While the illness forced the champ to miss the scheduled lunch, MMAFighting’s Marc Raimondi has revealed that she should be 100% for her fight with Ronda Rousey on December 30th.

Raimondi broke the news on Twitter:

Leading up to the fight, UFC commentator Joe Rogan has questioned why so many of the promotional videos for UFC 207 focus solely on the fact that Ronda Rousey will be returning to the Octagon, and not on UFC women’s bantamweight champion Amanda Nunes, who won the title in spectacular fashion when she rocked and submitted Miesha Tate in the first round of their UFC 200 scrap back in July.

Rogan wasn’t the only one who noticed that Rousey was the focus of the UFC 207 promos however. Former UFC heavyweight Brendan Schaub took to Twitter with an explanation as to why Rousey likely was the focus of the UFC 207 promos:

While Rousey will be entering the fight after suffering the first loss of her career at the hands of Holly Holm at UFC 193, Nunes will be entering the fight on a four-fight win streak that has seen her defeat Shayna Baszler, Sara McMann, Valentina Shevchenko, and most recently Miesha Tate.
