Amanda Nunes: Ronda Rousey knows she can’t beat me

Since losing the UFC women’s bantamweight championship to Holly Holm in the main event of UFC 193, Ronda Rousey has been on an indefinite hiatus from the Octagon. The former champ initially planned on filming several movies in Hollywood, and then returning to the Octagon.

With that being said, Rousey has maintained radio silence regarding when she plans to return to the Octagon, only hinting at the subject in an interview where she stated that she wants her belt back.

Recently, talk of Rousey potentially returning to the Octagon was sparked once again following Amanda Nunes’ UFC 200 win over Miesha Tate. The newly crowned champ spoke to MMAFighting to discuss a potential Rousey-return:

“Ronda had her time and that buzz around her. She knows it has cooled down now.

“She knows she lost. That’s the problem. She was undefeated for a long time and doesn’t know how to deal with a loss now. I started my career with a loss, getting ‘slapped’ by life. Ronda doesn’t know how to deal with that.”

“She fought inferior girls, and those girls fell in her game, that pressure from the UFC and media, and fell in the armbar. But that won’t happen with me because I’m mentally stronger. And I have the belt with me. She knows that, and that’s why she’s avoiding it.”
