Anderson Silva sells series script to Netflix
Former UFC middleweight kingpin Anderson Silva may currently be gearing up for his UFC 208 scrap with Derek Brunson, where he hopes to snap a 2-fight skid, however the former pound for pound kingpin has been working on quite the massive side project.
‘The Spider’ spoke to Combate:
“My biggest dream, right now, is to maybe win an Oscar,” Silva said. “I got some auditions to do in Hollywood. I wrote a script for a series and Netflix bought it, thank God. I got other projects apart from fighting. It was always my dream to become an action movie actor. I have been studying that for a while and now things are finally happening.”
“It’s an action show, but it has nothing to do with fighting,” Silva said. “It doesn’t have a name yet, we’re still adapting it to script and we’ll settle on a name once it’s all done. I had to stop for awhile, but I’m always working on it, you know, it’s annoying. I’m always writing, putting ideas on paper, before I go to bed and after I wake up.”
Silva has made several appearances on the big screen over the course of the past decade, appearing in several shows and films, including an episode of NSIC: Los Andeles, in which he played a martial arts expert named Sensei Scott.
While Silva is ranked at #7 on the UFC’s official middleweight rankings, his lone win in his last 5 fights was overturned to a no contest after he failed a drug test. With the Diaz fight now being marked as a no contest, Silva is just 0-4 in his last 5 fights, with the 5th being the no contest, which broke up two separate two-fight skids.
Only time will tell if Anderson Silva is able to defeat Brunson and mov one step closer to the middleweight title once again.
