While this isn’t the first time that Tim Kennedy has called out Anderson Silva, the stars may have aligned for a bout to finally be scheduled between the two men. After Tim Kennedy’s controversial loss to Yoel Romero, he took an indefinitely hiatus from competition. Now, a year and a half following the loss to Romero, Kennedy has stated that he is returning to the Octagon and targeting PED users and TRT abusers.

While many expected Anderson Silva to fight at UFC 198 on May 14th in his hometown of Curitiba Brazil, it appears that ‘The Spider’ won’t. UFC Brazil GM Giovanni Decker explained that there the lack of opponents for Silva on the card, which has resulted in him declining to fight according to Combate.

Anderson Silva is still upset about the outcome of the five round war with Michael Bisping. Silva’s camp has even requested that the commission review the decision outcome. “The Spider” posted a clip of his knee that landed in the third round and wrote in the caption of his Instagram post: “Isso é um esporte né ? As pessoas queriam que eu tivesse assasinado o meu adversário. This is a sport, isn’t it ? So why do people expected me to kill my opponent?!”

It was one of the most gruesome injuries we have seen in the UFC when former middleweight champion Anderson Silva broke his leg kicking fellow former middleweight champion Chris Weidman in their rematch at UFC 168 back in 2013. Silva’s coach Luiz Dorea revealed to MMA Fighting that he had suffered an injury in his controversial fight with Michael Bisping, which Silva thought he had broken his leg once again.

Sounds only fair since Anderson Silva went to London to fight Michael Bisping. Silva’s team would love the rematch to be in Brazil, Silva’s home turf. It was a unanimous decision loss for Silva at the O2 Arena in London. That is Silva’s first decision loss since 2000.

Former UFC middleweight champion Anderson Silva suffered a unanimous decision loss to Michael Bisping at yesterday’s UFC Fight Night 84 event in London. The setback marked Silva’s third loss in his past four octagon appearances, his lone win in that time coming over Nick Diaz, a fight which was eventually overturned to a no-contest after both men flunked their post-fight drug tests.
