The Octagon returns to Nevada for tonight’s UFC Vegas 12 event, an 11-bout fight card headlined by Uriah Hall vs. Anderson Silva. The former middleweight kingpin, Silva (34-10 MMA), will be returning to action for the first time since UFC 237 in May of 2019, where he suffered a TKO loss to Jared Cannonier. ‘The Spider’ has gone just 1-4 over his past five Octagon appearances ahead of tonight’s event. His lone victory in that time came by decision against Derek Brunson.

The weigh-ins for UFC Vegas 12 took place on Friday and headliners Anderson Silva and Uriah Hall both made weight for the main event. In what could be the final fight of the legendary MMA career of Silva, he takes on Hall in a dream fight between two strikers. This is a fight the UFC has tried to book in the past but now at age 45 for Silva and age 36 for Hall, they finally meet in the Octagon. Silva is coming off of an 18-month layoff following a TKO loss to Jared Cannonier in his last fight while Hall hasn’t fought since last September, though he has won his last two fights.

Speaking to the media ahead of his final UFC fight, MMA legend Anderson Silva says he has “no regrets” about his past PED suspensions. The 45-year-old Silva is generally regarded as one of the best MMA fighters of all time but one argument that is used against him is his previous sanctions for performance-enhancing drugs. In 2015, Silva defeated Nick Diaz via unanimous decision at UFC 183 but the fight was overturned to a No Contest after Silva tested positive for steroids by the Nevada State Athletic Commission. He was also fined and suspended for one year.

The main event sees middleweight striker Uriah Hall take on UFC legend Anderson Silva in the final fight of Silva’s career. Hall has been an inconsistent performer over his years in the Octagon, but he has looked to be in top form as of late, winning three of his last four fights. As for Silva, he is now 45 and coming off of two straight losses, including a leg injury TKO to Jared Cannonier in May 2019. It remains to be seen what he has left.

The opening betting odds have been released for the upcoming middleweight bout on Halloween between strikers Anderson Silva and Uriah Hall. Silva and Hall will meet on October 31 in a five-round middleweight main event. The fight features two of the top strikers in the UFC middleweight division going at it, which should bring plenty of eyeballs to the fight despite taking place on Halloween. According to UFC president Dana White, this will be the last fight of Silva’s legendary Hall of Fame career.
