Street Fighter wants to reward Angela Hill for her Sagat weigh-in outfit
Last weekend, on the main card of the UFC’s latest trip to Houston, strawweight striker Angela Hill returned to the UFC after a short stint in the Invicta FC cage. She made this return against streaking contender Jessica Andrade. Though Hill put up a valiant effort in this comeback fight, she ultimately came up short, giving up a hard-fought unanimous decision to her foe in a Fight of the Night winning battle.
While Hill’s return to the Octagon unfortunately resulted in a loss, her latest weigh-in appearance was a definite win. If you watched the weigh-in ceremonies for the UFC’s Saturday trip to Houston, you probably saw the strawweight decked out in an eye patch, and white hand wraps. This getup was a tribute to fan favorite Street Fighter character Sagat, a Muay Thai specialist who originally debuted as a boss, but ultimately became a playable character.
Unsurprisingly, this weigh-in costume generated a positive reaction from gamers and fight fans alike. It also garnered a response from the official Street Fighter Twitter account, who congratulated Hill on her post fight bonus, and offered her a reward of their own. See this Tweet below!
Congrats @AngieOverkill on your #POTN bonus! You also deserve a reward for your #SFV weigh-ins, Please DM us! Looking forward to next time!

At the time of this writing, it’s not known what kind of “reward” Street Fighter plans to give Hill for her awesome weigh-in getup. It’s worth noting, of course, that this is not Hill’s first tribute to the Street Fighter universe. Back at Invicta FC 16, she weighed in dressed as the character Dhalism, and even did his signature victory dance. She has also cosplayed as characters from Fallout, The Warriors and Afro Samurai in the past.
With her recent loss to Andrade, Hill returned to the loss column after four-straight wins, all of which occurred in the Invicta cage. The third of these four wins earned her the organization’s strawweight title. She’s now 6-3 in sum.
