Anthony Johnson defends coach Henri Hooft from Internet trolls
Following Anthony Johnson’s performance against Daniel Cormier in the UFC light heavyweight title rematch at UFC 210, “Rumble” announced his retirement from the sport of mixed martial arts.
With going in with a strange game plan and not listening to his coaches in the opening round, many fans including Johnson’s own corner were scratching their heads when “Rumble” decided to try and wrestle with Cormier instead of unleashing his vicious knockout power that he is known for, especially in the opening rounds.
Following the loss, Johnson’s coach Henri Hooft took to Instagram and posted a photo with the following words: “Don’t play the victim to circumstances you created.” In the caption, Hooft wrote, “You know….yea you know👊🏻”
“Rumble” took to the comments where he defended Hooft where people were bringing up that Hooft left Johnson in the Octagon after the fight ended.
“anthony_rumble: Everybody is funny as fuck… saying I loss on purpose which is the stupidest thing ever when it comes to me, and seeing Henri is the worst coach ever which is totally insane, and no Henri doesn’t have to explain himself. You guys really hange no fucking like with the way you assume! You don’t know the hard times Henri and I have been through! No coach has been there for me more than Henri… so why the fuck are you talking when you don’t know anything other than reading media?”
Hooft posted another photo of Johnson and himself on Monday and said in the caption, “ONLY WE KNOW!! @anthony_rumble was a great ride these 6 years from our plane ride (Brazil) to silence the 33k Swedish crowd and 2 title fights thanks for the K.O’S and the YOOO moments…..🙏🏻 now let’s see what the future brings 😉👊🏻👊🏾”
