This Saturday, the UFC will touch down in Buffalo, New York with UFC 210. In the main event of the UFC’s anticipated Buffalo debut, light heavyweight champion Daniel Cormier will attempt to defend his throne opposite torpedo-fisted challenger Anthony “Rumble” Johnson. In the card’s main event, we’ll see light heavyweight champion Daniel Cormier attempt to defend his title against an old foe in Anthony “Rumble” Johnson. Cormier and Rumble first met back in 2015. On that night, Rumble nearly took Cormier’s head off in the first round, but was ultimately overwhelmed by his foe’s wrestling and cardio, and submitted with a rear-naked choke in the third round. Given Rumble’s incredible punching power, however, the outcome of this fight could well be different. As such, The MMA community seems to be divided when it comes to predictions for this battle.

The pair’s light heavyweight title showdown, which was originally expected to headline UFC 206 back in December, will instead serve as the main event of UFC 210 on April 8 in Buffalo, New York. Cormier and Rumble, of course, have plenty of history together. The two talented light heavyweights first met back in May of 2015, when the fought for the vacant throne after former champ Jon Jones was stripped of the title. On that night, Cormier weathered a hellacious, first-round onslaught from Rumble to win the fight with a rear-naked choke in the third round.

Wednesday evening, UFC light heavyweight champion Daniel Cormier announced via UFC Tonight that he would be stepping into the Octagon on April 8th in Buffalo, New York to square off against top ranked light heavyweight contender Anthony Johnson. Unfortunately for Rumble, his chance at a rematch with ‘DC’ for the light heavyweight strap was postponed when it was revealed that Cormier had suffered a torn adductor in training, and would be unable to fight Johnson at UFC 206. With Cormier currently sidelined, it has been reported that the champ will be looking to return to the Octagon in early 2017, where he plans to give Johnson the rematch he deserves.
