Since then, he has competed for GLORY kickboxing and BKFC, losing by knockout to Rico Verhoeven and Gabriel Gonzaga, respectively. But after taking the last two years off to rest up, Silva was feeling confident heading into this fight that he could get back into the win column. Unfortunately for Silva, the fight ended like many of his fights do, with him getting stopped with strikes by his opponent, though some have questioned this stoppage.

PHOTO | Antonio "Bigfoot" Silva has gotten even bigger since leaving the UFC
Tom Taylor - May 10, 2017
At 6’3, and more than 265 lbs, Antonio “Bigfoot” Silva is a big, big man. Though he is far from the fighter he once was, having lost seven of his last ten fights, he remains one of the most physically imposing fighters in the game. And somehow, he still seems to be getting bigger. On June 2, in St. Petersburg, Russia, Bigfoot will take on the undefeated Vitaly Minakov, who is far and away the best heavyweight outside the UFC. As this massive heavyweight showdown draws ever closer, the promoter, Fight Nights Global, has released an in-depth infographic for it, complete with recent images of both Minakov and Bigfoot. If these images are any indication, Bigfoot has been packing on some extra weight in advance of this fight.
Antonio "Bigfoot" Silva to battle Vitaly Minakov in Russia
Tom Taylor - March 15, 2017
Despite being a tough 1-6-1 in his last 8 fights, former UFC heavyweight title challenger Antonio “Bigfoot” Silva shows no signs of slowing down. Some five months removed from his corruption filled loss to Ivan Shtyrkov in Russia’s Titov Boxing Promotion, the Brazilian heavyweight will once again fight in the country, this time against former Bellator heavyweight champion Vitaly Minakov, who is far and away the best heavyweight currently competing outside the UFC. The two big men will meet under the Fight Nights Global banner in St. Petersburg, Russia, on June 2. Considering the fact that Bigfoot pocketed a whopping $200,000 for his shady loss to the relatively unknown Shtyrkov, his willingness to return to Russia to fight an opponent of Minakov’s standing is understandable. That said, the Brazilian is likely to be a substantial underdog heading into this fight, and rightly so.
