Artem Lobov and boxer Amir Khan swap trash talk on Twitter
The biggest story in combat sports today surrounds a boxing mega fight between undefeated great Floyd Mayweather, and Irish MMA superstar Conor McGregor. While this potential showdown initially looked nearly impossible, it is looking more and more probable by the day. And now, Artem Lobov, one of McGregor’s main training partners, wants in on the action.
Though Lobov is just days away from the biggest fight of his career, a Saturday night, main event battle with the UFC’s fourth-ranked featherweight Cub Swanson, he has found time in his schedule to initiate a Twitter feud with another titan of the boxing world: Amir Khan.
The feuding began when Lobov suggested he wanted a “warm-up ” boxing match with Khan in an interview with Champions.co.
“I would love to box, but Conor, he’s going straight to the top and he’s going for the best guy out there—Floyd Mayweather,” he said. “For me though, I’d like a warm up fight first.”
“I’d like someone easy first, like Amir Khan or someone like that,” he continued. “That would be a nice and easy one for me. With that glass chin, against me? I’d knock him out, and that would be an easy night for me.”
These statements from Lobov then prompted a response from Khan. Then things really got going.
I sneeze harder than you punch! Tune in on saturday to watch a real fight!

Lobov will enter his bout with Swanson on a two-fight winning streak, having recently picked up decision wins over Chris Avila and Teruto Ishihara. Prior to that, he lost his first two bouts in the Octagon, giving up decision to Ryan Hall and Alex White.
Swanson, meanwhile, was last seen in the cage in December, when he defeated South Korean prospect Doo Ho Choi in one of the best fights of all time.
