Eddie Alvarez vs. Donald Cerrone Rumored For UFC 178

Bellator lightweight champion Eddie Alvarez may be in better shape following his promotion’s new take on company management.

With SCott Coker at the helm, things are different, so different, that it appears as if the embattled Bellator star in Alvarez may actually get the release he’s been fighting for.

Sherdog.com got the scoop.

Sources close to the bout who spoke on the condition of anonymity because the matchup had not yet been finalized confirmed the news to Sherdog.com. The bout is contingent on the UFC acquiring Alvarez’s services from Bellator. Negotiations are ongoing because Alvarez currently remains under Bellator contract at the time of this writing.

This is of course, all rumors, but Cerrone was left without an opponent for UFC 178 when Khabib Nurmagomedov pulled out of their but with an injury.
