Ken Shamrock’s 23-year long quest for revenge

By bjpenndotcom - February 11, 2016

At UFC 1 back on November 12th 1993, Ken Shamrock was submitted by Royce Gracie in the semifinals of the tournament.

When the two had their highly anticipated rematch at UFC 5, the fighters continued for over half an hour until the fight was declared a draw.

Now, 23 years later Shamrock will get a chance to avenge his loss to Gracie over two decades ago when the pair fight once again at Bellator 149 on February 19th.

Shamrock spoke to MMAFighting to discuss the fight, and why things will go different a third time around.

“Everything I’ve wanted to set things right is right there,” Shamrock told MMA Fighting. “All I’ve gotta do is just pick it up and go. That’s what this is. That’s the Gracie fight. I can [cherish] everything that this one fight happened. Everything. From the beginning to the end. It was started and it will end — and I’m in control of that.”

How do you see this fight going? Will Shamrock be able to finally get a win over Royce Gracie?
