Frank Mir made his Bellator debut this past April, suffering a first-round TKO loss to Fedor Emelianenko.

The former UFC heavyweight tile holder has gone 2-3 over his past five fights, scoring wins over Antonio Silva and Todd Duffee during that span.

As for Mir’s opponent, Javy Ayala entered tonight’s co-headliner on the heels of a first-round knockout loss to Cheick Kongo at Bellator 199.

Frank Mir had a solid opening first-round in tonight’s fight against Ayala. The former UFC champ was able to score some timely takedowns and utilize strong top position to control the bouts opening five minutes.

However, Javy Ayala was able to turn the tide in round two after splitting Frank Mir open with a strike. Ayala would continue to pepper Mir with punches until the bloodied up MMA legend was eventually forced to tap out.
