Coker Reacts To UFC Lawsuit: 'Bellator isn't minor league'

BJPENN.COM News - December 27, 2014

“Labeling a league based on the past can be misleading, because the fighters that are here today fighting for us are gonna be the next Luke Rockholds, the next Daniel Cormiers. They’re going to be the next stars of MMA. “Do I think Bellator is a minor league? The answer is no.”

Bellator Going After Brock Lesnar, Will Fight For All Top Fighters

BJPENN.COM News - December 26, 2014

“There hasn’t been any serious dialogue. But when the time comes to have serious dialogue, we’ll be right there. There’s not going to be a fighter on the planet we can’t afford and have access to. I think one of the things we were really able to do bring is back the casual fan,” Coker said. “Those casual fans seemed to have jumped away from MMA for a little bit. Names like Ortiz and Bonnar brought them back. If fighters like that are available, you can be sure we’ll make a run at them.”

King Mo Puts Tito Ortiz On Absolute Blast

BJPENN.COM News - December 23, 2014

“He’s a b*tch, too. It won’t happen. He don’t want to fight me. He would fight Stephan Bonnar, but he wouldn’t fight me. He would fight Alexander Shlemenko, who’s really a smaller 185er, but he won’t fight me. I’m hood and ghetto — I’m from the South, so I speak the way I speak. I’m not going to hit no switch and be like, ‘oh, hello there.’ I’m keeping it real. He’s a fake-ass dude. All he has to do is admit that he doesn’t want to fight me. If he does that, I’ll leave his ass alone. Keep it real. Tito Ortiz in his prime would never had beaten me ever.”

Tito Ortiz "wants to work things out" with the UFC

BJPENN.COM News - December 19, 2014

“Yes, (Tito was approached to be included in the lawsuit). He felt that it was just best to not be a part of that suit. Obviously, everybody wants a better situation for the fighters, as far as pay and benefits. But Tito just felt that at that particular time, he wanted to opt out. Because mainly, they were using him for the publicity aspect, and he didn’t want to lend his name to it.” “He feels that he’s building bridges with Zuffa, and he didn’t want to be the face of a lawsuit against them, because he’d like to work things out and have a professional relationship with that organization in the future.”
