Over the weekend, on the main card of Bellator 220, former Bellator light heavyweight champs Phil Davis and Liam McGeary collided in an anticipated rematch.
In the end, Davis won this fight when McGeary sustained an apparent jaw injury in the third round.
Writing on his official Instagram account on Sunday, McGeary updated his fans on the injuries he sustained in this fight — and it all sounds brutally painful.
See it below (click the arrow on the Instagram to see his X-Ray):
“Ugh… the jaw cracked in the second round and the tooth went in the 3rd. Soon as that arm came round and touched my jaw that was enough for me guys!! That hurt like a mutha fucka and you know I can take some shit too!!! Fuck it man, I was too worried about the takedowns in the first i was hesitant.
Shit you took me down in the 3rd and I got right back the fuck up! I’ve stepped my game up man, wrestlers dont bother me anymore…. just the bloody dentist hahah
Congrats @philmrw good shit mate, enjoyed throwing down with you man. I’ll see yo uin the bar for a beer when I get done here.” – Liam McGeary on Instagram
Needless to say, this mixed martial arts racket is not for the faint of heart.
Liam McGeary is now back in the loss column after a recent knockout victory over former Strikeforce champ Muhammed “King Mo” Lawal. This win was preceded by back-to-back stoppage losses to Vadim Nemkov and Linton Vassell. The former champion is now 13-4 in sum.
Who do you want to see him fight once he’s all healed up?
