Report: Comp’d Ticket Percentage High For Bellator 106 Event

Bellator 106 took place last Saturday in California where fans saw Eddie Alvarez defeat Michael Chandler to win back his lightweight title in their rematch.

The card became the biggest show Bellator has put on to date, and the most watched card in Bellator history with an average of 1.1 million viewers which peaked at 1.4 million during the Alvarez Chandler fight.

However news surfaced today that many of the people in attendance at the show received complementary tickets to the event.

mmaweekly obtained ticket sales numbers from the California Department of Consumer Affairs. The numbers were as follows:

Total attendance: 6,596
Tickets sold: 4,189
Complementary tickets: 2,407
unsold tickets: 5,855

Bellator CEO Bjorn Rebney gave mmaweekly his thoughts on the promotions numbers, and how he expects ratings to be this Friday at Bellator 107.

“I’m not much for predicting exactly where numbers will hit or what we’ll do, but I’m anticipating we’ll do real strong numbers this Friday night.”

Bellator 107 takes place tonight in Oklahoma where former UFC heavyweight Cheick Kongo fights Peter Graham in the heavyweight tournament final.
