Roy Nelson says doctors have made Mirko Cro Cop ‘better and stronger’

This Saturday, at Bellator 216, Roy Nelson and Mirk Cro Cop will collide for a second time.

This time around, Nelson expects Cro Cop to be a different fight than he was at the time of their first meeting, which occurred at UFC 137 in 2011.

Nelson has previously stated that he feels Cro Cop might be getting some illicit help from his doctors, and when asked by MMA Fighting’s Danny Segura whether he still thinks the Croatian legend is using PEDs, he did not beat around the bush.

“I mean, he definitely has doctors that make him better and stronger, faster,” Nelson said. “I think, even, he left the UFC because of that. Because he had doctors that are making him better and stronger.”

Given that Roy Nelson believes Mirko Crop Cop is cheating, you might wonder why he accepted this rematch — especially considering he won his first meeting with the Croatian.

He says he simply accepts the fights Bellator offers him.

“It’s what Bellator puts together,” he said. “I just go out there and fight, that’s the one thing I’ve always done.”

Whether Mirko Cro Cop will be enjoying illegal advantages in this fight or not, Roy Nelson is confident he’ll get his hand raised when the cage door closes.

“The way I look at it is just getting my hand raised at the end of the night, I don’t look at it any farther than that. It’s all I visualize, is getting my hand raised.”

While Roy Nelson doesn’t believe Mirko Cro Cop is competing on a level playing field, it’s worth noting that the The Mohegan Tribe Department of Athletic Regulations conducted random tests on the Croatian legend and a number of other Bellator 215 and Bellator 216 fighters.
