Shortly after BJ Penn came up short to Dennis Siver in late June, he was attacked on social media by an undeniably classless Nik Lentz. While Penn chose not to engage Lentz on this one, his good friend Joe Lauzon couldn’t let Lentz’s comments slide. Replying to Lentz on Reddit over the weekend, Lauzon absolutely brutalized Lentz with a fiery comment that challenged the lightweight’s legacy, and reminded him that Penn whooped him during their brief stint training together.

On Sunday night, the UFC touched down in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma with UFC Fight Night 112. The main card of this anticipated, 13-fight event occurred in the featherweight division, where our very own BJ Penn – a former two-division champ and a UFC Hall of Famer – collided with German veteran Dennis Siver. Though Penn nearly finished his foe in the second round, dropping him with a blistering uppercut, Siver was the far busier man throughout the rest of the fight.

Other people might not. I don’t know if Siver was watching my last fight [against Yair Rodriguez] and was like ‘oh we can capitalize here and there,’ but that’s on him. That’s his work he’s got to do. But I think he’s a great fighter. I’ve never really seen him be disrespectful to any opponents or anything like that. He’s just out there doing his thing.”

Earlier this month, streaking featherweight prospect Yair Rodriguez picked up the biggest win of his career as he not only defeated, but TKOd UFC Hall of Famer BJ Penn in the main event of their ‘UFC Fight Night: Phoenix’ scrap. The fight was a particularly dominant one for Yair Rodriguez, who showcased his excellent striking throughout the fight, landing 56 of 113 total strikes at 49%, and landing 55 of 111 significant strikes for a total of 49% compares to Penn landing 7 of 27 total strikes at 25%, and 4 of 22 significant strikes at 18%. In addition to landing more shots, many of Yair Rodriguez’ significant strikes that landed were head kicks, something he doesn’t necessarily feel bad about.
