Jon Jones picked up arguably the greatest win of his professional mixed martial arts career last month in Anaheim when he scored a third-round TKO victory over Daniel Cormier in the main event of UFC 214.

Immediately following his victory over “DC”, which earned Jones the UFC’s coveted light heavyweight championship, “Bones” decided to issue a challenge to former UFC heavyweight kingpin Brock Lesnar.

“Lesnar. If you want to find out what it’s like to get your ass kicked by a guy who weighs 40 lbs less than you, meet me here in the octagon.”

It did not take long for “The Beast”, who is the WWE’s current Universal Champion, to respond to Jon Jones. Here is what Brock Lesnar had to say in a statement to the Associated Press.

“Be careful what you wish for young man.”

Since then, rumors that the former UFC heavyweight champion (Lesnar) will be returning to the octagon have been swirling throughout both the world of mixed martial arts and the pro wrestling community.

On tonight’s edition of Monday Night RAW, Lesnar’s manager Paul Heyman dropped a major hint that “The Beast” could soon be back in the cage.

“I never make predictions I only deliver to you spoilers,” stated Heyman. “One of two things happens this Sunday at SummerSlam. One, the conspiracy by WWE General Manager Kurt Angle is successful and they rip the Universal title off of my client Brock Lesnar… Brock Lesnar and Paul Heyman leave the WWE. And if that is the case I assure you that you might as well lock this Beast up in a cage!”

Brock Lesnar was last seen in action at UFC 200 in July of 2016 where he scored a unanimous decision victory over former title challenger Mark Hunt. The result of that fight (Lesnar vs. Hunt) was later overturned to a no-contest after Brock tested positive for clomiphene.

Brock Lesnar is still under suspension from USADA, but UFC President Dana White did acknowledge at the UFC 214 post-fight press conference that the promotion would be interested in booking a fight between “The Beast” and “Bones”.
