Cain Velasquez “wouldn’t mind taking another belt” from Brock Lesnar

Last night, WWE returned to the screens of pro wrestling fans with its Elimination Chamber event. Amid the madness, former UFC women’s bantamweight champion Ronda Rousey signed her WWE contract. That said, she wasn’t the only big UFC name on site. UFC light heavyweight champion Daniel Cormier and former heavyweight champion Cain Velasquez were also in the building, taking in the mayhem from ringside.

Brock Lesnar, Cain Velasquez

Cormier and Velasquez seemed to have a great time, so much so that Velasquez suggested he’d be interested in trying his hand at pro wrestling one day, where he could wrest another title from the waste of former UFC heavyweight champ and current WWE star Brock Lesnar.

Velasquez made this interesting comment on Instagram.

“First [WWE] event,” Velasquez said in his post, which included a few pictures from ringside. “I could feel at home here! [Brock Lesnar], I wouldn’t mind taking another belt from you.”

Velasquez and Lesnar met in the Octagon in the main event of UFC 121 back in 2010. On that night, in what would serve as the breakthrough performance of his career, Velasquez mauled Lesnar to a lopsided first-round TKO, capturing the UFC heavyweight title in the process.

In his next fight, Velasquez lost the title to Junior dos Santos. He then reclaimed the title from dos Santos, defended it against Antonio “Bigfoot” Silva, and then again against dos Santos. In his next bout, the champ surrendered the title to Fabricio Werdum. Though he has since rebounded with a mauling of Travis Browne, Velasquez’s recent career has unfortunately been marred by a string of unfortunate injuries and layoffs.

Do you think we’ll ever see Cain Velasquez try his hand at pro wrestling?
