Chael Sonnen’s daughter passes away

Wednesday afternoon, while the MMA world was wrapped up in the news of Conor McGregor and Nate Diaz’ UFC 202 press conference altercation, news surfaced that Chael Sonnen’s daughter, Blauna Dian Sonnen, tragically passed away.

News surfaced earlier this week that Sonnen’s daughter was born 10 weeks premature as a result of a listeria infection contracted by Sonnen’s wife Brittney from eating food contaminated with the bacteria. The former title challenger released a statement regarding the situation saying that his daughter was “in a battle”, however just 4 days later she passed away.

Our thoughts are with Chael Sonnen and his family during this troubling time.
