UFC heavyweight Chase Sherman lost a brutal bet over the weekend

On Saturday evening, the UFC touched down in Winnipeg, Manitoba with UFC on Fox 26. While the card was packed with exciting scraps, perhaps the most anticipated of the bunch was a main card welterweight scrap between Santiago Ponzinibbio and Mike Perry. Given the pair’s shared propensity for knockouts, few people expected this one to last to a decision. UFC heavyweight Chase Sherman was so confident the bout would end with a stoppage that he was driven to make a pretty insane wager with his followers.

See how it all went down below:

“If Perry/Ponz doesn’t end in a KO, I’ll let [Francis Ngannou] PUNCH me Square in the face with my arms tied behind my back,” the heavyweight said.

“Or a TKO!,” he added shortly thereafter. “Lol gotta clarify here.”

Needless to say, Sherman began to regret making this bet as the fight wore on, and no knockout materialized.

And when this Ponzinibbio vs. Perry bout went the distance, Sherman unsurprisingly wished he’d kept his mouth shut.

Time will tell whether or not Sherman holds up his end of the deal and lets Francis Ngannou, one of MMA’s most fearsome punchers, crack him in the face point-blank.
