Chris Weidman talks high-stakes rematch with Luke Rockhold at UFC 199
Back in the co-main event of UFC 194 in December, Luke Rockhold dominated Chris Weidman from bell to bell, ultimately finishing the champ in the 4th round via TKO.
While Weidman had a broken foot in the fight, Luke Rockhold feels that when the two step into the cage at UFC 199 for a rematch, things will go the same for Weidman, if not worse.
Weidman spoke on Inside MMA to discuss the high stakes in the rematch, and why he feels this fight is ‘do or die’.
MMAMania has the transcription:
“This is a do or die fight for me. I have to go out there and dominate him. This is my career on the line. This is everything. This is bigger than my Anderson Silva fights. I’m already starting my camp. I did a six-week camp last time and now I’m doing a 12-week camp this time. I’m just going to be very prepared.”
