Chuck Liddell to be contestant on Celebrity Big Brother
Over the last year, there has been significant discussion surrounding a possible Chuck Liddell comeback. The former UFC light heavyweight champion and bona fide MMA legend has repeatedly been linked to bouts in the Bellator MMA cage – though none of them have come to fruition yet.
As it turns out, though, we will be seeing Chuck Liddell back on our screens soon. Just not in the way we expected.
According to a report from The Hollywood Reporter, the former UFC light heavyweight king will be serving as a contestant on the upcoming season of Celebrity Big Brother, which kicks off on February 7.
Per this report, Liddell will join a cast that also includes former White House political aide Omarosa Manigault, former NBA player Metta World Peace, Sugar Ray lead singer Mark McGrath, American Pie actress Shannon Elizabeth, The Cosby Show‘s Keshia Knight Pulliam, Real Housewife Brandi Glanville, actors James Maslow and Marissa Winokur, TV personality Ross Matthews, and Miss Colombia Ariadna Gutierrez.
This, of course, will not be Liddell’s first foray into the world of reality TV. At the height of his MMA career, the once-feared knockout artist served as a coach on The Ultimate Fighter. He was also a contestant on a previous season of Dancing With The Stars, though he didn’t perform as well as fellow fighter Paige VanZant on the show.
Liddell has not competed in mixed martial arts since June of 2010, when he was knocked out by former middleweight champion Rich Franklin. In his next most recent bouts, he was knocked out by Mauricio “Shogun” Rua and Rashad Evans. This worrisome skid was preceded by a decision win over fellow legend Wanderlei Silva.
Will you be watching the former champ Chuck Liddell in the Big Brother house when the show begins airing on February 7?
