Clay Guida wasn’t surprised by ‘coward’ Bobby Green dropping out of their fight

The UFC is returning to Chicago, Illinois.

One of the hometown fighters fighting on the UFC 225 card is none other than ‘The Carpenter’ Clay Guida. Guida was originally supposed to be taking on Bobby ‘King’ Green in his first fight in Chicago since 2013.

However, Green was forced out of his bout with an injury making it his 12th UFC fight that he’s had to miss for one reason or another.

Green’s would be opponent, Guida spoke to FanSided today and voiced his feelings on the matter as he wasn’t too shocked.

“Not surprised at all about [Bobby Green pulling out]. Bobby Green’s not what you call a true warrior. He’ll fall off in the drop of a dime. Luckily Charles Oliveira took this fight on short notice to step in for Bobby Green, brown, black, yellow whatever you want to call him. And he’s a coward so it’s all good. Thanks for Charles Oliveira.”

Guida will indeed now be facing submission specialist, Charles Oliveira at UFC 225 on the Fight Pass prelims.

Since returning to lightweight in the middle of last year, Guida has put on two of the best performances of his career with dominant victories over Erik Koch and Joe Lauzon.

Oliveira too has returned to lightweight after a stint at 145 pounds. But for the Brazilian, he’ll be looking to rebound off a tough loss to Paul Felder in December.

Also featured on the UFC 225 card in the co-main event is Rafael Dos Anjos who will be fighting for the interim welterweight crown against Colby Covington. Guida acknowledged Dos Anjos recent success and had nothing but praise for him. That didn’t mean that The Carpenter wouldn’t be down for a rematch with the man he defeated in 2010.

“I would definitely like to get in there and mix it up with him again.”
