Nick and Nate Diaz are widely regarded as two of the most polarizing figures in MMA. While some love the Diaz Brothers ‘no B.S.’ attitude, and jaw-dropping antics inside the cage, others don’t like the pair for the same reasons mentioned above.

Ahead of the highly anticipated debut of former WWE champion CM Punk, Nate Diaz stated that the the UFC signing him was “horrible for the sport”.

During an autograph signing at UFC 200, Punk had a run-in with Nate Diaz, and had nothing but nice things to say about the Stockton superstar.

He recounted the incident to Fox Sports:

“UFC 200 I was doing an autograph signing and the guy I was signing the autograph for started like pointing behind me and I heard someone like yelling my name and I turned around and I was on a riser and Nate Diaz was on the ground and he was like ‘hey man come here’,” Punk explained when speaking to FOX Sports recently. “I was like ‘what’s up?’ and he was the nicest (expletive) guy.

“I don’t know if he’ll get mad and this will ruin the image of Nate Diaz, but he was like ‘hey man, I talked some (expletive) before and I don’t know you and I’m sorry’ and he’s like, ‘Gilbert (Melendez) and Ronda (Rousey) said that you’re a cool dude and they love you’ and I started looking around for the cameras. I was like all right. I thought that was super, super cool of him. Super nice guy.”

Punk will be stepping into the Octagon at UFC 203 in just two weeks to fight undefeated prospect Mickey Gall nearly two years after it was announced that the UFC had signed Punk.

Diaz on the other hand, is fresh off a majority decision loss to Conor McGregor in the main event of UFC 202. While UFC President Dana White has stated that a trilogy fight between the two doesn’t make sense at the present time, Diaz appears to have been trying his best to secure a trilogy fight with McGregor, even going as far as to say that he’s 2-0 against the featherweight champ.
