CM Punk will be attending UFC 218 in Detroit
Last September, CM Punk, a pro wrestling star with essentially zero legitimate martial arts experience, stepped into the UFC’s Octagon for a battle with young prospect Mickey Gall. As so many expected, Punk was blown out of the water by his more experienced foe, losing via first-round submission.
While this fight itself was a veritable disaster for Punk, it earned him the respect of many fight fans who had previously doubted him. He clearly had some major deficits in the skill department, but it was also clear that he had heart abound.
Unfortunately, Punk has not yet been given another chance to test his mettle in the cage. Now more than a year removed from his failed MMA debut, we’re all still waiting to see how he’d fair in a second MMA foray.
Well, it sounds as though things could finally be moving in that direction.
During a Tuesday press event, UFC President Dana White revealed that CM Punk will be attending UFC 218, which goes down this Saturday in Detroit. Apparently, he and Punk will also meet to discuss what we can only assume is the possibility of his Octagon return.
Dana White said CM Punk will be at UFC 218 in Detroit and the two will chat. White said he’s not sure about a Punk return to the Octagon at this point.

While nothing is official with respect to Punk’s return just yet, his coach Duke Roufus has recently suggested there is a fight on the horizon.
Do you think we’ll see CM Punk in the Octagon again?
