Mickey Gall: I’ll finish CM Punk in one round
Its been over a year since CM Punk announced that he would be transitioning to MMA and entering the Octagon. Now, with Punk’s UFC debut finally set for UFC 203 in Cleveland on September 10th, the MMA world has been asking many questions in regards to how he will do.
Gall spoke to Fox Sports to discuss the bout, as well as why he won’t underestimate Punk despite his lack of MMA experience:
“I’m going to prepare as if they say he’s the best in the world. I’m going to prepare like he’s the baddest dude around,” Gall said. “I don’t really think I need to see tape. I’m going to force my game. I’m taking him very seriously.
“A lot of people are treating him like a joke but I’m going to look like a real (expletive) if I go out there thinking he’s a joke and get myself beat. I won’t let that happen.”
“I think I’ll finish him in one round, but I’ll be prepared to go three hard rounds. I think I’ll be able to get him in one. That’s what I do, I get people in one. I plan to do some violence, some terrible things in the fight. I’m going to make it real ugly for him.”
It is important to mention that Punk has been training at Roufusport in Milwaukee alongside the Pettis brothers, Tyron Woodley, and Ben Askren.
