UFC President Dana White shook up the combat sports world yesterday evening when he released video footage of Conor McGregor knocking down former two-weight boxing champion Paul Malignaggi in sparring.

Malignaggi, who had previously stated that no knockdowns occurred during his sparring with McGregor, immediately took to social media where he defended himself through a plethora of tweets.

McGregor’s coach John Kavanagh had initially taken the high road by thanking “The Magic Man” for his services in helping prepare Conor for the Mayweather bout.

However, “Coach Kav” eventually decided to take a small parting shot at Paulie with the following post on Twitter.

It did not take long for the former two-weight boxing champion to respond as Malignaggi tweeted back the following response.

“Reality hits you hard when you been spinning the truth all training camp. Setting yourself up for a very bad fall from grace in 2 weeks.”

Paul Malignaggi seems genuinely confident that Conor McGregor will be exposed on August 26 when he squares off with undefeated boxing legend Floyd Mayweather. With that said the “Magic Man” continued to vent his frustrations on social media.

“Let them have their 35 seconds. They know what happened last week. It’s a house of Cards, 2 weeks left.”

“The guy won 2 rounds outta 12, there were no problems aside from me fatiguing at end I assure you lol.”

“Looks have nothing to do with it. We sparred 36 minutes they cam eup with just 45 seconds? Some of it same footage diff angle? Lol 36 min”
