Leading up to their fight, we will get to see more action unfold to build up the grudge match as the two bantamweights are coaches on this season of The Ultimate Fighter. Garbrandt was most recently seen in action at December’s UFC 207 event in Las Vegas, where he captured the UFC bantamweight crown after scoring a lopsided decision win over Dominick Cruz and won a lot of new fans over by telling the story of his friendship with Maddux Maple who is a cancer survivor.
Since joining the UFC ranks “No Love” has gone a perfect 6-0, scoring victories over Marcus Brimage, Henry Briones, Augusto Mendes, Thomas Almeida, Takeya Mizugaki and the aforementioned Dominick Cruz in that time. He’s 11-1 overall.
Meanwhile, since losing his title to Dominick Cruz via a razor close judges decision, TJ Dillashaw has returned to form scoring dominant decision wins over top division contenders Raphael Assuncao and John Lineker. He’s 14-3 in sum.
